This project is about combining the best software our generation has to offer and finding a way to the secure the right to open source compute in the future.
Gentoo meets linux from scratch. The project is the scripts and tooling to build as much of your computing environment from source.
We aim to run the whole project on community support. Anyone who believes in a friendlier, open‑source internet can donate a little or a lot. Those donations are collected and staked in a single, transparent fund. We then distribute that money to the teams that build and maintain each piece of the system. Up-stream libraries, developers, testers, documentation writers and infrastructure operators. Think of it like a public library: patrons pay and the resources go straight into buying new books, hiring staff, and keeping the library open. The result is a continuously improving zero‑trust stack that anyone can use and audit.
Software freedom has a business problem. Perhaps a thoughtful human first approach, the new economy (Web 3.0) and tech with ❤️ can solve it.
You give, we build.
